How to Start, Promote and Profit From Your Blog?

If you want to set up a website in just a few minutes, you can always depend on blog's Content management system and build a working website in just few minutes. In this article, I am going to show you how you can get started in few minutes. Here are the steps you can take.
1. Buy a domain and hosting - To start with, you need your own domain. Buying your own domain gives you more flexibility. If you are looking for a hosting, then you should think about linux web servers for your website.
It doesn't matter if you don't know anything about linux as the interface to server is your internet browser (internet explorer or mozilla firefox).
Your web hosting service should have Cpanel and Fantastico installed on your server. Almost all the good hosting services provide you with these scripts. They make installing your blog easier.
2. Use Fantastico to install blog - When you go into cpanel account of your hosting, you'll find fantastico script which will help you install WordPress blog in matter of couple of minutes.
Save your blog data (admin and password login) when you are installing WordPress.
3. Change your theme - WordPress installs an ugly default theme. You should find a good theme (which you can either buy or get one of these free themes) which suits your blog.
4. Add important plugins- You should add few of the important plugins in this step. For example here's my list
1. All in one SEO
2. Google Analytics
3. Adsense Plugin
4. Audio Player Plugin
5. Youtube Player Plugin.
6. Google Sitemap Plugin.
5. Now you have to set up your content and promotion pieces in place.
How to promote your blog?
1. Leave blog comments to other blogs
2. Participate in forums (and put your blog in signature).
3. Write articles and promote.
4. Write press releases and promote your blog.
The more you'll promote your blog, the better your blog will perform and easier it'll be to monetize it.
